Go to the Westchester County Board of Elections website. If you have a NY driver's license, you can register or update your registration at myDMV.

2020 Election Information

Congressional, State and Local Primaries June 23, 2020
    • Early Voting June 13 - June 21
    • Deadline for Voter Registration May 29 in person and postmarked
    • Application for Absentee Ballot June 16 postmarked; June 22 in person
General Election November 3, 2020
    • Early Voting October 24 - November 1
    • Deadline for Voter Registration October 9 in person and postmarked
    • Application for Absentee Ballot October 27 postmarked; November 2 in person

Early Voting

One of the key reforms adopted in 2019 by the Legislature is the provision for early voting across the state.

Fair Campaign Practices Committee

The purpose of the Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee is to help set an acceptable standard for political discussion by offering a forum for identifying unfair campaign practices and promoting a climate in which candidates conduct honest and fair campaigns.

The Committee accepts written complaints from candidates about alleged unfair campaign practices, holds hearings and issues findings.

Absentee Ballots

You can vote by absentee ballot for one of the following four reasons:
  • You are a patient in hospital, or will be confined at home and unable to appear because of illness or disability
  • You will be absent from the county because of duties, studies, occupation or business
  • You will be on vacation outside of the county
  • You will be confined waiting action by a grand jury or confined pending trial in a criminal proceeding or confined for conviction of a crime or offense other than a felony Links to Absentee Ballot Applications for the two Districts are available below:

To determine which District you are in, check your tax bill, call the New Castle tax office at 914-238-4773 or go to and do the following:
1. Click on "Receiver of Taxes" under "Departments".
2. Click on "Public Tax Status Lookup!" in the right hand column.
3. Click "I Accept".
4. Enter your name or address.
5. Click the button "Bill Detail" on the "2017 Town" line and your Fire District will be listed.
